Photography is all about light.
Think Like a Photographer
When capturing or creating any image, its pretty easy to just hit the shutter button and expect a good photo; especially with modern cameras. However, it would behoove you to actually slow down a bit and think about what you're actually doing and what a photo actually is. Anything that is visual deals with light. Without light there is no vision, so our job as a photographer is to not only capture but also manipulate light every which way to our advantage. So how do we do this exactly? There are countless ways we can do this some of which are, looking to introduce more light if possible, looking to control the direction of the light in relation to your subject, looking to expose your camera to light longer, etc…
Tips for Capturing & Creating Better Photos
1. Understanding the exposure triangle: Even a little knowledge on how Aperture, ISO, and Shutter Speed work will take your images to the next level.
2. Manipulate the Light 1st: First order of business when taking a shot or even thinking about it, is to get the lighting right. Expose your scene 1st, then think about everything else.
3. Compose For the Best Angle: Composition is all about getting the best possible angle of light and subject. 1st get the angle of the light and then the subject.
